@julilations this movie truly was well directed. from the musical score to subtle camera angles played a part in immersing the audience and all of it was executed really well.
@grimaudo65 i agree with you. i think that's what the movie was pointing towards. showing the differences in how the people of ethnicities get treated despite's living in the same neighborhood.
overall the film did leave an impact on me. it was authentic and real did a good job at displaying racial tensions. the cinematography created an immerse atmosphere.

before watching the movie i assumed this Do the Right Thing would be simple and morally correct however while watching the film it was far from that. although there were some playful scenes they were immediately interrupted by tension and vulgar.

@CindyHuang76 i think this is a fair argument because the internet allow a lot of bad people (trolls, hate groups) a platform and our data is always being collected however i think these are risks that are expected. even with the FCC these risks will still be present.
letting the FCC oversee that would hinder creativity and expression. the FCC regulating TV makes sense because it reaches a mainstream audience but on the internet that's where the counterpublics thrive.

the FCC should be able to regulate the internet because that's where users are freely allowed to create their own content, form opinions and connect with other users. the internet encourages being a produser.

@xxM180TDD9000xx this is a very inspiring ad. i also think the color red brings a sort of urgency and power to the message. there should be more women in positions of power!!!
this is an ad geared towards people into beauty products. the ad attracts customers by offering a confident & attitude boost with the lip shade. also having zendaya a model, actress and singer as the cover appeals to customers b/c she is very well known and beloved. #Media1802D04
@lilamediahunter i agree with you! i also think because cable had more variety, it reached a bigger audience. there was something for everyone and people would come together to discusss and connect
@Milkshake_202 i agree! traditional television was also heavily controlled by networks which reflected the type of content that was available. with cable it allowed people to find and explore their own interests.
back then people would discuss the same shows b/c broadcasting offered a limited range of content but with cable, people had the ability to find content that fit more in their interest. even though it fostered individuality, people were able to find their own sub groups
cable has not disrupted our sense of community, but transformed it instead. traditional television might of allowed family members to gather around the TV to bond but with cable brought forth a variety of content to consume and created niche communities.

@mediaa101 the variations of perspective on social media has broadened my views to many issues. i find myself appreciating social media for the exposure and education on things we don't hear about from textbooks because on here, they are all personal accounts and lived experiences.
@julilations in my opinion i think the power of fast information and connection with people across the global online, has enable to us to be more proactive and organized. comparable to the time of the civil rights movement.
@julilations although this is a valid concern and i completely agree, i think the positives out way the negatives. it is inevitable to have misinformation and the wrong people acquiring a platform. however it is our responsibility to have that type of media literacy to minimize this risk.
Social media fosters the political system of democracy and principles of freedom. There have been many movements on here that have been amplified with hashtags and trending tweets. #Media1802D04
