On Saturday, one of our members assigned to SP Tunnels in Boston conducted a traffic stop for numerous vehicle violations. During the course of the stop, the operator of the vehicle admitted to being impaired and having open firearms charges. Following our Trooper’s investigation, a rifle, 3 magazines, a ski mask, spent shell casings and live ammunition were all recovered. The operator was taken into custody without incident and was charged accordingly. The Association would like to commend our member in H Troop on this great arrest!

Earlier today at approximately 1:00 PM our Troopers along with MassDOT responded to reports of a tractor-trailer that had become stuck in the Sumner Tunnel in Boston. This caused massive traffic delays, however as of 4:30 PM the truck had been removed and the right lane reopened. The left lane will remain closed until inspectors can review any damage.

Multiple members from our Special Tactical Operations (STOP) Team and Emergency Vehicle Operations Course (EVOC) instructors partnered with the Soldiers assigned to the Massachusetts Army National Guard’s 1st Battalion, 181st Infantry Regiment for their pre deployment training. Our members provided Principal Protection and Emergency Vehicle Operations training during the week long event aiding the 1-181 Infantry’s preparation for its upcoming overseas deployment next year.
