The amount of times Iβve walked into something that has been in the exact same place for years ππ My brain really said βspatial awareness? never heard of her.β
2. The doorframe
You walk through the same doorway every single day and still clip your shoulder on it. A doorframe hates to see you coming. ADHD spatial awareness runs on estimates. Trail a hand along the frame as you pass, so touch tells your body where the edge is.

I know Iβm fortunate in many ways. My AuDHD went undiagnosed for years, but I can access support & medication now. I have a well paid job, a house, and no history of abuse. I know many of you donβt have such access or safety. My heart goes out to those carrying so much more β€οΈ
YES ππ The second I open it, my brain turns a simple message into a task with a deadline. If I donβt open it, technically I have no responsibilities yet. π
DOES ANYONE ELSE WITH ADHD AVOID OPENING A MESSAGE BECAUSE THE MOMENT YOU READ IT, IT BECOMES A RESPONSIBILITY?
And unread, it doesn't exist yet. So you just... leave it there.
Tomorrow-me is apparently a completely different person with unlimited energy, perfect focus, and zero distractions ππ I really need to stop making plans for this fictional version of myself.
No one is more delusional than an ADHDer making plans, because we are CONVINCED that tomorrow-us will somehow have no moods, needs, distractions, or insatiable desire to fuck around.
@meikamikoto This is either the most relatable advice ever or the beginning of a very questionable life decision ππ βI struggle with numbers, so obviously engineering is the answer.β

@illiterateprole βPUT THE PLANNERS DOWNβ ππ Sometimes I donβt need another productivity system, I need something outside my brain to give the day some structure. External structure can be such a game changer.

My tips for adhd if youβre unmedicated:
- get a job. get something. Get anything with rigid structure that you can build your days around and no you do not have the self discipline to motivate yourself into following a schedule that you set yourself
- PUT THE PLANNERS DOWN
Starting a task can feel IMPOSSIBLE when you have ADHD. ππ§
You know what needs to be done.
You want to do it.
But somehowβ¦ you just canβt start. π«

The imaginary reply is always sent perfectly ππ My brain really said βdoneβ while the actual message is still sitting there, untouched, 11 days later.
People with ADHD will answer a text in their head, feel the full relief of having answered it, and find it unsent 11 days later with the little cursor still blinking.
βAssume youβll forgetβ is honestly such a game changer ππ Instead of trusting my brain to remember, I just make the environment remember for me.
Things I copied from ADHD adults who actually have their life together.
Nobody "fixed" their brain. They just stopped fighting it.
And not one of these involves a 5 am alarm.
1. They assume they'll forget. Every single time.οΏΌ
Exactly π Having 20 ideas is rarely the problem. Turning those ideas into something real is where the friction kicks in. AI can be really useful for bridging that gap and getting from βI should make thisβ to actually having something in your hands. π§ β¨
This is spot on.
People with ADHD have a stronger preference for generating ideas and real-world creative achievement.
AI happens to be very good at implementing these.
Limerence is such an important thing to understand because it can feel SO real π The constant thoughts and need for reciprocation can make it really hard to tell where genuine connection ends and fixation begins.
If you have ADHD, learn about limerence.
It is an intense, involuntary fixation on someone that can feel exactly like extraordinary love. You think about them constantly, crave their reciprocation, and gradually begin organising your emotional world around their presence.
