You’d think they protect: Schaefer, Heineman, Holmstrom, Horvat, Barzal, Ritchie and Sorokin. Then they can pick whoever with the next 2 spots and leave all the other out for expansion.

@NHL_Watcher Plenty of room come 2028 for these kids to prove themselves. Ideally this year is a development stopgap and then the kids show up for the 27-28 season and forward. The big plus is that most of the almost ready kids are wingers so they’ll have veteran centers to learn from.
