@BSkarecky @MollieHolzwarth@MsJohnson220 A2. Model for the students and provide questions for the students to reference when picking a book. Make sure they are posted near the classroom library. #comprehendthis
A4. A teacher can use all about me posters, reward system, job charts, student of the week, and creative cross-curricular academic related projects. There are numerous ways to celebrate students in a variety of settings. #comprehendthis
@Maestrameetworl I’m not sure if it affects their ability2 comprehend, but more potentially shape the way they decide to answer. Perhaps a student grows up in a more sheltered community, therefore their level of comprehension may not be as open minded as a student opposite them. #ComprehendThis
Text can be read and as a whole class do an anchor chart on what was important vs what wasn’t. Even though the information is all new, doesn’t necessarily mean it’s all important. #ComprehendThis
A5. I think vocabulary should be taught because it helps with students comprehension. Vocabulary should be focused on at least 5 to 10 minutes a day to get kids familiarized with more words and continue to grow. #comprehendthis
A2 Reading and writing are together under ELA at my school, but it is up to the teachers for balancing time between each. I think they should be together because the students be one better readers and writers when they learn them together. #comprehendthis
