93% of our pupils passed English today. 93%!!! I am still in a state of shock but never been so proud of every single one of the people involved in making this happen for our children 🥹 93%!!!! I’ve cried at least 93 times since I found out!!!! What an amazing team.
Can we once and for all dispense with this tedious "But he always took the bins out and said hello" commentary, as if there was a contradiction here that needed explaining.

🌟more sentence work🌟 helping students to generate ideas. Last time, the work they produced gave them loads of confidence which was really motivating. This time I want them to think about a place at different times.

Credit to @DoWise for the initial idea!
@DoWise I used your ideas today - thank you so much! The character viewpoint one was perfect as I teach structure by thinking about POV and then identifying and/or using 'looking' words and 'position' words. Very much looking forward to reading @ChrisYoules book too

Year 11 revision quote of the day:
“Scrooge took his melancholy dinner in his usual melancholy tavern”
Explore Scrooge’s isolation and miserly behaviour via this Stave 1 line, the repetition of ‘melancholy’ emphasising the misery in his life.
