Completing my last placement within @NorthcoteSch EYFS setting has been both a joyous and insightful experience. What a lovely way to end year 2 of my degree! Over half way to graduating!🕺🏼
A little late, but Happy World Book day! As a trainee English specialist lead, here are a small few of my favourite books… if you have any high-quality book recommendations for EYFS-KS2, please share them below :)
With it being children’s mental health week, here are some affirmations you could share! As a community, we must do everything in our power to support the mental health of our children (and of course adults too!)❤️
Officially finished my second placement @MarshsideSchool ❤️ A little school with such amazing staff and children! Been an absolute pleasure to work in my dream placement. Marshside, I can’t thank you enough!
Loving my 2nd placement & already my knowledge & confidence has grown greatly! Tomorrow, for the first time, I have the class to myself for the day, as the teacher is unable to come in; feeling super nervous, yet excited for the challenge & the feeling of having my own class🥰
1/2 Today I completed my 1st presentation towards my Focused Subject Study module. Despite my hard work, I feel as though it could have gone a little better if my nerves didn’t take over as much as they did! Yet I have been thinking in the way in which I will teach my children:
Working in a pre-school, tuff trays can be amazing resources for many types of development, however I have to agree with Aaron, their visual aesthetic is not important. Make it appealing to children of course, but please also make it beneficial to their learning!
Tuff trays have become the new worksheets. I’ve seen some awful pedagogy of late. I am finding that educators are sticking anything into a tuff spot. We went through a stage of using worksheets it’s now tuff spots. Before you do it ask why. If it’s for insta then it’s not needed.
A little dinosaur 🦕 biscuit baking afternoon after my first day back at uni- starting the second year of my course! 📝 Feeling very proud of myself (for getting through my day that is… and the biscuits too I suppose!🤭)
2/2 alongside their personal development & how this is built upon & transferred into a classroom environment. Having the chance to work with a variety of staff & experiences has allowed me to learn new, adaptable techniques. I will miss them all dearly & hope to return soon!🥰
1/2: What a break I have had- gaining so many insightful & valuable experiences through working at a lovely pre-school; taking the children on fantastic trips, & waving some off to ‘big school’🥹 It has been so beneficial for my knowledge of a child’s learning journey
A very interesting article pointing out the need to support those working in higher education further, due to a variety of issues affecting mental health in which have been highlighted due to the pandemic. Definitely worth a read, something needs to change🤞🏼
I’m genuinely excited by the all the posts about newly qualified teachers being signed off and recommended for QTS. Congratulations! Like every one of these posts people - we need more teachers! @MrTs_NQTs@TraineeTwinkl
