Good luck to this wonderful group of young people. It has been a pleasure teaching you GCSE Geography for the past 2 years. The world is your oyster… 🌍
What misconceptions are you noticing for AQA GCSE coasts? A big one I’ve noticed is mixing up wave-cut platform formation and waterfalls 🌍. #aqageography#gcse@MrTs_NQTs

The sun set in Tromsø, Norway today at 11:51am, but it won't rise now until 15 January.
For others in the Arctic Circle the wait for sunrise will be even longer!

According to the national survey of behaviour commissioned by the DfE earlier on this year, 60% of school leaders and teachers said pupil misbehaviour has had a negative impact on their health. I thought about this a lot recently & wanted to breakdown my thoughts below.

@PickenGeog Hi Meg,
Can I be really cheeky, can I have access to this just to steal a couple of ideas!
ECT here that’s been given year 11 set one, that “don’t know what to revise”
So will be a massive help 🥹🌎
This is a brilliant resource. So much useful content which can be delivered and directed at the teacher’s own pace. A great way to deliver this topic. Making the abstract visible 👏🏼
First half term as a ECT finished. As a concluding lesson of year 11 coasts we broke down our learning plan and students did blank retrieval. They had 13 minutes on each PLC. After each 13 minutes we used the visualiser and cold call to fill any gaps. #GCSEGeography#aqa#gcse
First opening evening as a ECT! Took on the responsibility of planning activities and getting year 7s involved! All activities went down a treat! Especially building a sustainable city out of Lego!
Top Trumps game: I learnt this way to compare indicators of development on my PGCE years ago and it’s been a popular activity since. Works best when students are given country lists to follow across 6 continents. Data: Oxford School Atlas. #edutwitter#geography#geographyteacher
