@AdrianaLaGrange Another farce, spending more unnecessary 💰, with cherry picked people, who can’t speak freely. You’ve had free, open, & honest feedback from @albertateachers & parents that you’ve ignored. So disappointed you’re still unwilling to collaborate & listen in a transparent way.
@RachelNotley@RachelNotley@AdrianaLaGrange Why aren’t you willing to work with teachers, the actual experts in the field, on this curriculum? Why do you keep ignoring our feedback, & doubling down that it’s a good draft? Why are you our minister when you won’t even listen to us? #abed
@alegithumanbei @KalieJo@jkenney@UAlberta In the draft curriculum, it asks students to use a map of Alberta to calculate the distance from Regina to Duck Lake. Not a jab at kids at all, just @jkenney and @AdrianaLaGrange ‘s poorly written draft.
Albertans are sending you a clear message right now as well, the K-6 curriculum is a failure and will set our students back. Time to listen to teacher, parents, students and curricular experts and start again.
@AdrianaLaGrange@jkenney@RachelNotley I am appalled that the new curriculum ignored feedback from educational experts & continues to ignore feedback from teachers. I don’t need to eat a rotten sandwich to know it is rotten. #abed#abteachers
@AdrianaLaGrange@AdrianaLaGrange@jkenney If your priorities were actually to support schools, you’d: ✔️reverse the 4% decrease in funding per public student ✔️support those with diverse needs ✔️reduce classroom sizes with more teachers/EAs ...not work on appearances. @RachelNotley help. #abed
@AdrianaLaGrange Yet there’s not enough money to fund our schools to the same extent they were last year? What a publicity stunt @AdrianaLaGrange@jkenney. Hey kids, we have no textbooks or resources for the new curriculum & limited EA’s, but at least A FEW of you get a playground... #abed#ableg
@AdrianaLaGrange@jkenney You only stand with the <16% of Albertans (if results were not discarded) who think they need more choice. You do not stand with non-extremist parents or their kids. Your goal has always been clear; to undermine public education in Alberta. Shame on you. https://t.co/YooKoujRpQ
@AdrianaLaGrange@jkenney Yet you clearly don’t stand for public ed. Cutting EA’s in March after promises not to, decreases in public funding per student next year ... but somehow an increase for private schools. Don’t paint yourselves as standing up for ed when you are dismantling it #abed
I needed to read this today, especially after an unsatisfactory response from my letter to my MLA, and no response from @AdrianaLaGrange, regarding their sudden decision in March to cut all EAs #ableg#abed
@lynnjohnston15 @Wright4Kids Thank you! Also, this is my new workload as a teacher after my EA was cut... which students deserve valuable feedback on their work? ALL OF THEM. Yet, here’s what I’m faced with, with no support... how am I supposed to give them the best without a team?
Dear @AdrianaLaGrange and @jkenney , please tell me again how much I apparently DON’T need an EA to help me do my job. Oh that’s right, you didn’t ask in the first place. Tell me which students are the most deserving of feedback, because I am only one person... #abed#ableg
If you’re a teacher and haven’t sent in your letter- do it soon!!!! Take the 2 minutes. Please! I know everyone is busy with their classrooms, but this is still so important. Literally all you have to do is click on the link and scroll down to fill out the info- that’s it!
Is it sad that I’m just excited for some extra time to plan and mark due to the snow day? Oh, and also endless hot coffee while doing so 😍 #teacherlife
