Education Secretary @GillianKeegan describes teacher strikes as "unforgivable". I would describe the government's CHRONIC UNDERFUNDING of schools as unforgivable. Teachers are fighting to give kids the education they deserve. I support the #TeacherStrike!

"They are responsible for your poverty."
"We refuse to be poor. We are going to win for our people on our terms."
Mick Lynch's powerful speech in front of thousands of striking workers this afternoon.
Today I was privileged to join hundreds of thousands of workers who sacrificed their pay so that others may live in a fairer society.
This is what spreading love and humanity achieves.
I keep seeing people say "I can't afford to strike" - the implication being that the only teachers striking are those who can afford lost wages.
I'm on M2. I'm the main breadwinner for my family. I really can't afford to strike - but long term, I can't afford NOT to. #payup
Today’s strike isn’t just about a pay rise
It’s about funding schools properly so your child can have pencils, glue sticks & resources without teachers spending their own money
It’s about ensuring schools can employ enough staff to support children adequately

💥TEACHER STRIKES: @NEUnion boss Kevin Courtney says the union has gained 32,000 members since last Monday when the union announced its strike dates & these are mostly new teacher members. This figure means far more teachers could be walking out next Wednesday than anticipated
#teacherstrikes 1/n I respect anybody’s opinion over striking. I really do. But I’m seeing an increasing number of colleagues judging others over their decision to strike. Personally,I voted yes to strike(my union isn’t striking💔)to try to help fix the system that is breaking…
@physics_jamie@louisejackson27@NEUnion Some schools have asked teachers to tell them by a certain day/time so they can make a contingency plan & naive teachers, who don’t understand their rights, have done so. I assume thinking it would motivate others to also partake.
BREAKING 🚨 | The Biden administration have condemned the UK government's anti-strike laws.
