@eepainton @DrPorcher Emily, you are so right. We have to speak up and say something if something is not right. Change starts with ourselves so we have to stand up for what is right.
@juliannacarey7 @DrPorcher Hey Julianna! I agree with your statement 100%. The classroom is a great place to start teaching students and talking about disrupting the norms.
@DrPorcher A2: As a future educator, I am responsible. First step is reflecting and taking action. Teachers shape the future as students look up to and model after them. What better person to teach children about disrupting norms than their teachers? #TeacherEduMatters#ELE301#TCNJEduLions
@msgordons_class @DrPorcher Abby, your statement is so true. Many times blacks students are judged before they are even given a chance. Then when they are given the chance to speak, they are criticized for the way they speak.
@DrPorcher A1: Throughout the course, we have learned about Black Language, ASL, history, and culture through the help of @aprilbakerbell workshops. I learned many new things and continue to strengthen my understanding everyday. #TeacherEduMatters#ELE301#TCNJEduLions
