Very positive Computer Club today ran by Mrs Haighton and Mr Reynolds. Children received their first challenge - write 'Springfield' using the CrumbleBot. Lots of perseverance seen by trialing different code using the motors successfully...

On Tuesday the Astronomy Roadshow Planetarium, the UK's largest mobile planetarium https://t.co/i2jNA1oHkQ visited @FreemanCPSchool Year 4-6s. The children really enjoyed the visit & said the dome was like a tardis as it was HUGE inside (our photo doesn't do it justice)! 🌙☄️🌟

Much better, some teachers argue to use this as a chance to remodel what primary education in particular is offering, moving away from testing and rigidity, focus on physical and mental health to begin with, then do less curriculum but better. Either way big thinking is required.

Tomorrow, @EducEndowFoundn will publish interim findings on the impact of partial school closures during the first #Covid19 lockdown. The research, based on NFER data, looks at KS1 pupils’ attainment in reading & maths, particularly the effect on disadvantaged pupils. #UKEdChat

After the announcement from the Prime Minister about the immediate closure of schools, our schools are implementing remote learning and provision for vulnerable pupils and children of keyworkers. Each school will be in touch with their communities to inform them of arrangements.
