Hi fellow UofT alum! I’m in Toronto before heading back to San Francisco
I was wondering if you’ll be back in Toronto soon. I’m building a company and content creator on LinkedIn, and we’re hosting a private dinner for creators in Toronto. I’d love to invite you if you will be back by mid of Aug. (I commented because it looks like your DMs are turned off.)
One thing I learned from meeting @LiliLanXin:
The best communities aren't built by organizations.
They're built by people.
In SF, students, founders, creators, and interns don't wait for someone else to host an event.
Someone shares an idea.
Others offer a venue.
Sponsors step in.
Volunteers join.
Within days, a community comes to life.
If I could share one takeaway, it would be:
✨ Stop waiting for opportunities. Start creating spaces where opportunities can happen. ✨
That's how great ecosystems grow.
Shoutout to Alice for bringing people together and reminding me that all it takes to build a community is someone willing to make the first invitation.

Whether you sponsor, volunteer, or just show up, every great community starts with people saying yes.
2025: AI changed how B2B startups grow.
2026: Time to rethink the playbook.
The new focus:
- Build Authority
- Generate Demand
- Capture Demand
- Close Customers
Buyers trust expertise before brands.
Founder-led content, communities, and partnerships create demand.
Paid channels capture existing intent, while great sales conversations convert customers.
Build trust first. Scale second.
What would you add to the 2026 playbook?
1/ Wait, Bigfoot figured out how to run a startup without drowning in multitasking 👀
It found 𝗦𝗶𝗺𝘂𝗹𝗮𝗿 𝗣𝗿𝗼, the world’s first production-grade, computer-use agent that runs thousands of steps without a hiccup - working 24/7 so he didn’t have to.
So how does Simular Pro work?
Most agents use LLMs - great explorers, but flaky when # steps grows; RPAs are stable but rigid. Simular Pro uses 2 agents, maximizing generality & repeatability:
- Neural: explores
- Symbolic: executes
Every action is editable, deterministic code.
3: A quote that stuck with me:
“You don’t need more tactics. You need better filters.”
Not every trend is worth your time.
The best marketers master relevance, not everything.
2: My biggest shift lately?
👉 I stopped trying to learn everything.
Started filtering what actually moves the needle.
Spotlight is helping me double down on:
- Content systems
- AI-powered workflows
- Smarter distribution
I interviewed one of the greatest minds in cloud and tech.
@jeffbarr is the VP & Chief Evangelist at AWS and helped launch services like EC2 and S3 before anyone believed they’d work.

3 things he said that I can’t stop thinking about:
🧠 “Keep one foot in the future… and one in the past.”
Innovation is useless if you don’t stay grounded in what devs actually need.
🚀 Long-term impact takes time.
He’s been at AWS for 20+ years. You don’t need to reinvent yourself—just keep growing.
🗣️ The best builders are storytellers.
Jeff didn’t just build AWS. He made people care about it.
Key Takeaway:
Innovation + Collaboration + Lifelong Learning = Growth 🌱
