->Mist means manure in German (“shit”) so Mistcoin could be also translated as Shitcoin.

->As Mist was launched by Fabian & Alex while testing tokens implementation for Ethereum Foundation Mist wallet, we can literally say that Mistcoin is the first and probably only “shitcoin” deployed by @ethereum!

Our LBP hosted at @FjordFoundry has just ended and 31 $ETH : 18k $wmc has been added to Uniswap as Liquidity Pool.

This LBP has been a total success and a huge step for this small community.

The #erc20 standard was authored by @feindura & @VitalikButerin and released on 19th November 2015, 16 days after Mistcoin deployment.

Apparently, the number “20” was randomly chosen, not strictly following a numerical sequence!

This is particularly funny, because if they had been more playful when choosing a number, #Ordinals #BRC20 standard could now be called #BRC69!

Today, that we are celebrating the successful implementation of #eip4844 feels like a good moment to pick this piece of @ethereum history at @EFDevconnect:

“Standardization” with @feindura, @VitalikButerin, @gavofyork […]

Some of the key points of this talk:

1-How from the very beginning standardization followed a collaborative approach in Ethereum. Standards were not simply imposed and everyone could have a say.

2-“EIP” term (Ethereum Improvement Proposal) was coined just two weeks before Devcon 1.

3- “Token standards” were the hot topic by that time.
