Ag tech graduate, mixed livestock farmer growing my dairy herd by improving grass growth and utilisation, Farmers Weekly Farming Apprentice finalist 2018

[Mitchell Park @MitchRPark]

@FarmersWeekly farmers apprentice was one of the of the best experiences I’ve had and way young farmer would be mad not to reply (link below) re tweets appreciated hopefully we can see some home faces in the 2020 series @YFCUPresident @UFUHQ

[Mitchell Park @MitchRPark]

@GreensOrganise @MothinAli Out of curiosity are you referring to the land a a commercial or residential property sits on? Or all the land? Like an I some how expected to front up a tax on all the land area I farm? Or worse still the areas we also set aside for nature including trees and hedge rows to?

[James Rebanks @herdyshepherd1]

The government is spinning that they are offering a record level of support for British farming

This is CATEGORICALLY UNTRUE

I’m not sure they understand this point…

Let me explain…

[Richard Payne @richardpayne94]

O…….M…….G!!
All machinery, stock in store and in the ground, all investment income, 30% of one’s house……..farmers do already pay considerable tax on death……..
I’m beginning to wonder where @RachelReevesMP is getting her figures from?

[Mitchell Park @MitchRPark]

@ChristyTuffy I used the app agri busnavi and a Bluetooth antenna, (this one came from machinery guide app as I previously used their software) providing you can get a semi cheap antenna which is accurate enough for your job a tablet and holder plus £50 a year subscription is cheap

[Mitchell Park @MitchRPark]

@kiltullaghfarm Certainly seems a lot more winter persistent than we’d lead to believe, I’ve a lump where I cleaned off the grass topper having topped some mulit species that had went to seed and the chicory that’s grew in it especially seems to bounce back after every frost really well

@ArableSam I can see merits in using timber over woods for farm buildings if there’s a notable saving, realistically gives each generation opportunity to tweak layouts etc to suit, how many of us don’t have at least a shed that’s not ideal or in the way but “too good to replace”?

[Mitchell Park @MitchRPark]

@herdyshepherd1 Can’t help but feeling the parades of really fresh 150+ hp tractors in Europe feels a little like crying poverty with a full mouth, fully appreciate they’re needed like any other tools but all the public see is the prices when they do a quick search

@adambedders Land security we can’t improve pasture (improved animal performance as well as nutrient uptake & reduced N inputs) invest in ph, install semi permanent infrastructure eg paddocks, water,or enter enviro schemes if we don’t know if we’ll be on the ground after November every year

[Mitchell Park @MitchRPark]

@ArableSam @IntegratedSoils Makes perfect sense when you put it like that

[Mitchell Park @MitchRPark]

@burgess_ag Revolut, it’s an app and you can get a card too if your not last minute at ordering it, transfer money onto it as you need it, fee’s and exchange rates are pretty keen, used it when we were in NZ for a month in November and fiancée used it for 5 years at uni in Poland

[Mitchell Park @MitchRPark]

@MrSchmitzo @bartjevandeven Happened to a farmer over here, friends dad was one of the first responders on scene think it was grim to say the lease

[Mitchell Park @MitchRPark]

@kenyanpigfarmer @farmerevees @CostaCoffee Toast and I can’t believe it’s not butter 🤷🏻‍♂️

[Mitchell Park @MitchRPark]
