@Ashley_Jacobs92@Bayer4CropsAU@Timsippe@ty_gronow@SEAgroResearch_ Yep correct. Mateno IBS was similar to Voraxor and Callisto IBS. Lots of plants in furrow and would always require a follow up spray…Post is just so much more effective and residual effect far better. Same for ryegrass
Left - UNT
Middle - Callisto 200ml+ BoxerGold
Right - Mateno Complete 1L EPE
Wild Radish control comparing Mateno Complete to various products both IBS & EPE at Gibson. Post Em Mateno as good on Radish as it is on ARG @Bayer4CropsAU@Timsippe@ty_gronow@SEAgroResearch_
@AlexGrove680 @BarryGr66@Timsippe@JeffLander02@Bayer4CropsAU@ty_gronow This was done by Boutsalis. Mateno on Grp F resistant biotype from WA applied 2-3lf radish. Pretty sure Most F resistance in WA is metabolic so the Aclonifen is certainly helping.
@rogstates@Timsippe@joel_lancaster Definitely wouldn’t suggest either of them on their own…
But I still have not seen a case where a Pre Em, or multiples of, work as well on Broadleaves as a Post Em.
Hard to look past Voraxor this yr in ideal conditions it seems = >Treflan on ARG and = > Callisto on Wild Radish. Good Pre option to rest Tref, but Mateno applied EPE still miles ahead for both grass and BL @Timsippe@joel_lancaster
@Ashley_Jacobs92@Timsippe@joel_lancaster Yeh busy time in that period for the boom, weather delays can quickly push out crop at weed stages. That is my concern, increase pressure on Grp H, and effectiveness of Pre v Post use of H. But the famous words of @photobycw “A dead weed is a dead weed” so your strategy works 👍🏽
@Ashley_Jacobs92@Timsippe@joel_lancaster Yes agree. Tref is still consistently the best mixing partner for all conditions (& Triallate) Still not sold on the of usefulness of a Grp H pre emergent though. Coming from a Southern WA perspective
@agrobaz@Timsippe@joel_lancaster Good to hear Barry, that’s the benefit of the EPE timing. Very strong on grasses but equally as good on problem broadleaf weeds so shouldn’t need to go over it again. The earlier applied the better the result 👍🏽
@rick_rundell@gusmac05@ty_gronow@Timsippe Generally Metabolic resistance so the rate of DFF plus other actives along with timing of application help Mateno Complete.
Top:UNT v Mateno 1L EPE
Bottom: 2 Pre Em herbicides:
Post V Pre? Very evident here.Pre em great on treated soil but furrows a problem as you’d expect.Mateno EPE covered the lot plus residual activity and Grass cntrl. Sprayed 2 weeks ago @ty_gronow @Timsippe
@rick_rundell@gusmac05@ty_gronow@Timsippe Have not tested this site but DFF based product generally still work OK in the South on Wild Radish. Grp I resistance is probably the concern here. Mateno does have an effect on Grp F Resistance WR from trials we have done in the North and pot trials by PlantScience Consulting
@BenHobley@kjoyce41@mottagwa Yes Field View can easily do that and more mate. Bayer are testing the platform in Aus now so I could get you on board if keen. All you need is iPad in each header.
