Antimicrobial resistance (AMR) remains a major challenge, especially in agriculture where antibiotic use is widespread due to limited awareness, education, and behavior change.
With support from The Trinity Challenge @TrinityChall, we conducted community sensitization in Kibaha (Mnembela & Milelemoja), empowering livestock keepers with practical biosecurity measures, improved hygiene, IPC/WASH, and rational antibiotic use.
We distributed boots and gloves to support farm sanitation, and were impressed by farmers’ commitment to adopting these practices. Their efforts show that small changes in farming can lead to big impacts in reducing AMR, protecting animal health, food safety, and community.
I share my journey as a Youth NTDs Fellow. how I discovered my passion for public health, what I’m learning about NTDs & mental health, and why integrated care matters more than ever. Don’t miss it!
