Representing @MoICT_Ug, Rt. Hon. @JustineLumumba, Hon. @JustineNameere (@MoLGUganda), highlighted the growing importance of Uganda’s film industry to national development.

In her remarks, she called for collective responsibility among Government, broadcasters, digital platforms, filmmakers, and audiences to strengthen Uganda’s creative industry, while emphasising professionalism, quality, originality, copyright compliance, respect for the law, human dignity, and the protection of children. She reaffirmed the Government’s commitment to working with all stakeholders to sustain the sector’s growth and competitiveness.

Today, @MoICT_Ug, in partnership with Smart Africa and @EnabelinUganda, convened key stakeholders at the National ICT Innovation Hub, Kampala, for a Validation Workshop on Uganda’s Digital Entrepreneurship and Innovation Policies.

The engagement focused on Science, Technology and Innovation (STI) Policy framework and Startup Policy, providing a platform to review key findings, identify priority areas for policy and regulatory reform, and discuss practical actions to strengthen Uganda’s startup and innovation ecosystem.

The workshop brought together stakeholders both from private and public sector to share insights, build consensus and shape policy interventions that will support innovation and entrepreneurship while contributing to Uganda’s digital transformation.

Today, we convened the 7th Joint Coordination Committee (JCC) Meeting of the Uganda ICT Industry Promotion Project (UJ-Connect) at

Nakawa. The meeting brought together @JicaUganda representatives, members of the UJ-Connect Technical Committees, and other key stakeholders to review the project’s progress, achievements , share lessons , and discuss the way forward for the remaining implementation period.
UJ-Connect has made significant strides in strengthening Uganda’s ICT ecosystem through skills development, business linkages, technology-driven entrepreneurship and an enabling policy environment.

Through the strong partnership between Uganda and Japan, UJ-Connect continues to create opportunities for young people, ICT professionals and businesses, while contributing to the growth of Uganda’s digital economy.
