98% of votes are expected to be counted in North Carolina tonight. When the polls close at 7:30, the first results that will post are the mail ballots.

At 7:30, county election boards are able to close out their early voting tabulators and start processing and posting the in person early voting results. Election Day votes will be transported to each BOE as well.

General timeline:

7:30: Polls close.

7:30- 9:30: Counties report to the Dashboard results of early voting and absentee ballots received before Election Day.

7:30-9:30: Precinct poll workers hand-deliver Election Day results to county board of elections offices.

8:30- 1 am: Counties report Election Day precinct results to the Dashboard. Reporting continues until all Election Day unofficial results are posted.
