In the early 19th century, archaeologists borrowed the Latin word thesaurus to denote an ancient treasury, such as that of a temple. Soon after, the word was metaphorically applied to a book containing a "treasury" of words or information.

Lastly, out of curiosity, I searched for the phrase “cerca trova” using Voyant which is Italian for “search & find” and the clue that Robert Langdon finds in one of the paintings (check the image) in the book. It was mentioned just 26 times. Can you find it yourself? 😉 #ENGL256B

You can see that the word "Langdon", used 1990 times throughout the entire book, peaked between segments 5 and 6 and was least used in segment 7. Being the emphatic main character in Dan Brown's book series, I dont think that comes as much of a surprise. #ENGL256B
