What an absolute disgrace. A FIFA-certified referee being denied entry to the United States purely because he is Somali.
The World Cup is meant to bring people together. This is racism, plain and simple. Shameful.

As a World Cup host, the U.S. shouldn't be flippantly barring officials from entering the country to do their jobs.
It's terribly backward.
It's also counterproductive.
Global sports competitions should improve international exchange and relations, not the reverse.
Today, I had the privilege of meeting Mr. Hideki Matsunaga, World Bank 🇸🇴 Country Manager, in Nairobi, 🇰🇪. Our discussions focused on advancing Somalia’s Fisheries Sector, the Badmaal Project funded by the WB and exploring future investment opportunities to strengthen our BE.
Excited to share our latest research article on the potential of Chlamydomonas reinhardtii as a sustainable food/feed ingredient using zebrafish as a model. Well done Team and thanks. https://t.co/CwLsnQVP23
We were pleased as a #HESDA climate awareness team to tweet the first day's participant pictures workshop (Strengthening Sectoral Climate Resilience & Natural Resources Sustainability) in collaboration with @SNU_University (FACULTY OF AGRICULTURE AND ENVIRONMENTAL SCIENCE).
@AAbdishakur No wonder why your 2012 & 2017 elections combined could not exceed 11 votes. This itself speaks volumes. The country is called Somalia, for Somalis, not for IC. It is a sovereign nation. Shame!.
@NorwayInSomalia Somalis understand your favouritism to certain candidates, and your role in the maritime dispute with Kenya. Stay nuetral & hands off in our internal affairs.
That she is dead now , I will not say much about her. Nawal sa'adawi never respected women who choose to wear the Hijab. She described Islam and Hijab as oppression and that showed only her ignorance. Islam honours, respects and gave women all their rights 1400 years ago.

Brief details of my investigation into the troops Eritrea is training for Somalia: The idea that Eritrea trains Somali soldiers was first raised by @M_Farmaajo in his 2nd visit to Asmara, but was discussed in detail during President Isaias Afwerki’s visit to Mogadishu in Dec 2018
Locals are reporting that Friday’s fighting near Ba’adweyne (not Ba’adweyn) was deadlier than previously reported. Villagers lost 14 while Shabaab suffered as many as 30 fatalities, per reports. Villagers are resisting AS demands to handover their weapons and young boys, reports
@AAbdishakur Shame on your pessimism, you have no place in our future, no more territory to be signed for a foreign country. No more foreign agent to shape the future of the next generation. Keep pursuing your cash from your masters but not on the expenses of our country👎.

Hooyo (Dr.) Hawa Abdi is an irreplaceable icon. This nation is proud of your legacy for mothers and infants, for your selflessness, for all the lives you saved and for ensuring you served Somalia in the least way you could. We cherish you forever. Innalillahi Wainaileyhi raji’un.
