I am happy to announce that @mikkelschierup, @SkovLaurits, @benmpeter and I are publishing our research today in @NatureComms.

Spoiler alert: We found that there has been changes in generation intervals among populations.

Researchers from @AarhusUni_int & @Harvard introduce TRAILS — a hidden Markov model that accurately infers time-resolved population genetics parameters for ancestral branches using a multi-species alignment of three species and an outgroup. See the study: https://t.co/5RiUEI0mp1
@elizostrow Newton's Prism Experiments. I think that physics are in general very elegant. In biology things look more slimy and alive (I’m a biologist 😅)
I am very proud to announce that our paper “Characterizing the evolution and phenotypic impact of ampliconic Y chromosome regions” in Icelandic men has been published in Nature communications! @Naturecomms

The wonders of population genetics allow us to reveal the echoes of the tumultuous times our ancestors survived, forever imprinted in our genome. In this thread, I'll share my experience replicating one of my all-time favourite papers by @lh3lh3 and @richard_durbin

@jgschraiber@vsbuffalo They also don’t explain the distribution of archaic ancestry in human pops: it worked for Neanderthals, but I’m certain that pop structure can’t explain Denisova component. I think, they want to raise the point that archaic admix might be inflated by pop struc. That’s it.
#DSB@omDSB I forgot a bag pack on a train this morning and I would like to contact the train staff to keep it safe. Customer service told me to write an email, but by the time this email will be read, the bag will be stolen. Twitter, help me please 🙏🏼
I called costumer service and asked if they could contact to the staff in the train. They told me this was IMPOSSIBLE and the only solution was to send a EMAL (thank God it was not a post card) and told them my situation, and MAYBE on Monday they would answer…
