@wbuxtonofficial@karunchandhok I know you guys love F1. But being inside the bubble, I think you have (and perhaps benefit from) a different perspective to many other fans.
I'd like to try and explain why so many of us are still outraged by what happened in the 2021 #AbuDhabiGP
At some point, we need to have an honest conversation about the fact that when journalists say “working class” they almost always mean “white working class.”
Trump will not have a good economy because we don’t have to let him. I myself plan on paying my bills and saving every penny beyond that. I will not contribute to this economy in any other way.
I will buy some clothes before he takes office and make sure I have everything I need for the next four years.
I will not be eating out unless it is an emergency that cannot be avoided. I have already cut my cable long ago, but I will not support mainstream media on any app. No cable news of any kind.
I will not go to the movies, sporting events, or any local attractions. New furniture or household goods will wait until 2028. I’m going to install a few other search bars and avoid Google as much as possible. I will not buy a new car before 2028. I will do everything in my power to hold on to as many dollars as possible.
I do not care about the consequences of a poor economy. If they want to put us through some things then I will deny corporations my money and if we all do the same we can put them through some things at the same time.
There are many ways we can fight back, but holding our money is the biggest way to fight back.
Part of being in the resistance is to resist everything you disagree with. I will resist this administration in every way possible. Make this your last expensive Xmas for the next four years. Hold on to every dollar. Buy based on need and not want.
Invest in your community by organizing and winning races at the local level. We need to get stronger from the bottom up. Use this time to make more local friends who see this country the way you do and get involved.
When they set up hotlines to report illegals start reporting MAGA. Resist in every way you can. Get in the way of their agenda in every way you can.
This is how we fight back.
Pierre Gasly is set to become the first full-time driver in F1 history to not cost his team a single dollar in damages over an entire season.
Not even a single puncture, cracked chassis, or broken wing in 2024.
This is an insane stat that isn't being spoken about🔥
This was what the quote is referring to.
Adaptability in F1 has lost its meaning.
Only 3 drivers in modern F1 have actual
proven adaptability.
Hamilton, Alonso, Schumacher.
Across 15-20 years fighting for titles, winning races across multiple different teams and inherently different types of cars.
Alonso won 2 titles at Renault, fought for titles at McLaren and also Ferrari.
Hamilton and Schumacher won and fought for world titles with 2 different teams, proving they weren’t just one trick ponies.
Going back further, Prost is also in that category as was Lauda.
Before his passing, Senna was on his way to do the same.
Max rains terror on track, gets criticized for it and calls British media biased. The same media that employed Paul di Resta and still does so with Karun Chandhok. A quick glance in the mirror usually does wonders, but perhaps there just isn't space for it next to the gaming rig.
@cannibality @paramountjeremi I’m really sorry Americans reacted that way. Many of my fellow countrymen can be very ignorant and have habit of projecting their own issues.
FWIW, I got chills when watching that video. I was incredulous moved and inspired by their righteous anger.
@blacklodgebooze @ChrisB1585862 Oh, so you’re saying Clarkson went from the BBC, a public broadcaster, to Amazon Prime, a subscription-based service with a smaller audience?
Thank you for proving my point about the degradation of his career. Good use of critical thinking.
I always find it hilarious when people engage in projection. It’s so obvious that it’s painful.
If there’s one person who epitomizes the concept of being past his prime (physically, intellectually, and professionally), it’s Clarkson.
Three years ago today, the world witnessed a miracle in Brazil 🇧🇷
Back against the wall with a 25-place grid penalty and no margin of error to work with.
Lewis Hamilton produced one of the greatest drives in F1 history to keep his title hopes alive in 2021.
