Safe travels to all coming to #Dublin over the next few days for #MTSummit2019. We’re looking forward to seeing you all soon for 5 full days of #MT! It’ll be great!
We are putting on a brand new event at #MTSummit2019: “Networking with the Professors” (the -s is important!). This is for #PhD students in #MT & #Translation to liaise with some of the top names in our field. If you’ve registered as a PhD student, we’ll be in touch soon!
By #MTSummit2019 not having a delegate bag, replacing the programme & badge with a bradge, just having e-proceedings & by having people stay on campus, we’ve saved approx. 1342 kgCO2e overall (~6 kgCO2e/attendee) and 190kg of waste (~865g/attendee) = 5 flights from Amsterdam!
We’ve worked with @DublinCityUni #Sustainability to make #MTSummit2019 as green as possible: no delegate 💼, no paper Proceedings, no conf booklet —instead a ‘bradge’ doubling as name badge. Hopefully🌲planting to reduce carbon footprint! On-site accommodation = less transport!
Thanks for the fantastic reaction to date from the community to #MTSummit2019. We have over 200 registered for the main conference, nearly 70 for tutorials, and 170 for workshops ... so far! So all events are running. Looking forward to seeing you all in #Dublin in August!
We’ve accepted 4 tutorials: the effectiveness of Neural Models in Language Decoding, Test Sets for MT Evaluation, Post-Editing Learning Curves, & Practical Statistics for Research in MT & Translation Studies @_atoral@_SheilaCastilho@amelija16mp@KantanMT@welocalize@laurarot77
