TailsOS + KeePassXC + VeraCrypt = true digital sovereignty!
Let me walk you through how paranoid anons and high-threat-model users actually encrypt and protect sensitive data.
1) Buy a used ThinkPad X270 (~$150).
Great Linux support, removable RAM, easy teardown.
2) Remove all radios & persistent storage: Wi-Fi/Bluetooth, WWAN/LTE, SSD, webcam/mic, battery (optional).
You now have a fully air-gapped, non-persistent machine.
3/ Flash TailsOS to a USB drive from an internet‑connected machine, then boot the ThinkPad.
Now you have completely air-gapped and stateless hardware + an amnesiac operating system (TailsOS)
Store the KeePassXC database inside a VeraCrypt container for real defense-in-depth against software flaws and supply-chain compromise.
Congratulations, you’ve built a setup designed to withstand nation-state-level capabilities, with encrypted data easily portable to microSD and suitable for secure, redundant backups.
@TheITGuyBen@MoneroTime if you really really wanted, you could could probably keep the mnemonic within tails built in KeyPassXc app encrypted behind a heavy password
No details yet, but a major issue has led to the Zcash network doing a rapid fork, and includes miners (temporarily) refusing to mine Orchard transactions.
This means that Zcash in Cake won’t work ATM due to the broader network issues, and unfortunately there isn’t anything we can do about that as it’s a network-wide issue.
Will update when that changes.
@monerobull I am sometimes so dumbfounded by such absurdities that I try to question myself to see if I am not the problem.
But it is actually inevitable, as the community grows, the average intelligence of the community is diluted downward.
I am writing from FPC Morgantown prison in West Virginia. It has been about 5 months since I first surrendered myself in December, and I will be honest, the prospect of a Presidential pardon is very low. There was some hope during the Bitcoin 2026 conference, but that has now come and gone, and one must come to terms with the fact that I am simply a federal prisoner without money, power, or influence, and I will serve my full sentence. It will be years before I can even attempt to rebuild my life. Which is why I am now writing this appeal to you all now. Things are dire and we need your help.
Lauren and I need your help desperately. More than ever before. We have over $2 Million of debt due to legal fees. We have a $250k fine the judge levied against us. Every day I get letters and calls from anxious lawyers looking to be paid. Or the DOJ demanding I start making payments on my fine. Perhaps it was denial or delusion, but I had hoped to do what I have always done and dig myself out of this hole myself - but with the reality of serving a full sentence that is not possible. I hate to ask for your help in this way but we are entirely out of options. We need to pay off these legal bills and other debts accrued attempting to defend myself. We desperately need your help. Now.
For 10 years Bill and I built and published open source code and tools for Bitcoin users. Those same tools and code are what the government says were criminal. The tools and code still exist, they are out there right now and always will be. The creators however are locked away in Federal prison. The creators are the ones whose lives have been decimated. The creators are the ones who have been financially wiped out. The creators are the ones who desperately need you now. Please donate whatever you can to bc1qtjjcvn98wh7dfd55m8kxhjcfexanttwt8gtan8 . We have to get this albatross from around our neck.
Samourai had well over 100,000 users. These users pushed over 2 billion dollars through our open source tools. We need those users and any bitcoiner who appreciates the work that we put into this industry for over a decade to help us now. Please donate whatever you can to bc1qtjjcvn98wh7dfd55m8kxhjcfexanttwt8gtan8 right now.
If you require a private address please DM my wife @leamuirleyn and she will provide one. Please do not delay. Time is of the essence. Please help us.

Why do I not trust secure elements?
I once saw, first hand, a device that could instantly read the data inside any secure element we could get our hands on.
It may sound unbelievable, but I saw it with my own eyes. This device exists.
It is not in the open market (obviously).
Surprisingly, it wasn't a black market tool either. This was a device used for testing. The manufacturers know about it. They are the ones that provided the keys.
No, I don't personally have access to it, and I truthfully don't know where to find it. The only person I knew that knew where to get it has long since retired. It is a closely guarded secret. But one day, it was on my desk.
If you are using a secure element as part of your bitcoin storage, I would encourage you to include a stateless or blind oracle device as part of a minimum quorum so you aren't able to sign a transaction with a secure element wallet alone.
A recommended 2-of-3 multisig setup might look like this:
SE wallet = ColdCard
Stateless = Seed Signer
Blind oracle = Jade
That way there is no single point of failure.
Btw, there are only a very few (maybe 2 total) companies that make these secure elements. Most of them come from the same manufacturer.
Secure elements are definitely a requirement in today's world, and I'm not saying they are worthless. Just want you all to know that there are still vulnerabilities with them.
Well, well, well… what do we have here? 👀
Battery-powered smartcard model?
Same design and power delivery as the regular SeedSigner+ battery model.
Just… smarter (pun intended)
The @KelpDAO funds have started being laundered through @THORChain and it's putting the whole industry at risk with the illicit funds.
Their current pattern of transactions look like they are preparing to send it through Wagyu, since it is indeed the best place to acquire XMR fast and as anon as possible.
In light of that I'm making the difficult decision to temporarily pause all XMR swaps/bridges from Wagyu to pre-emptively prevent DPRK from utilizing it.
Having these funds land in the Wagyu protocol (and therefore in the @HyperliquidX system) is something that harms us all.
I will re-evaluate later on when to enable XMR swaps/bridges again, thank you all for your patience.
Also anyone who already held $XMR1 prior to this pause is still able to withdraw ofc, FUNDS ARE ALWAYS SAFU.
If DPRK's funds started being laundered through Hyperliquid it would cause mass chaos for the whole industry, it's for the best that this happens temporarily.
That said, everyone who agreed to be paid to promote this stuff, you know they can easily be bought for a few dollars, now.
You will never see any dubious partnerships on https://t.co/S9CJ8JTOYp, which will be launching very soon.
No one will be able to buy us off with dubious partnerships, at any price.
It is essential to use industrial-grade microSD cards, such as the ATP S800Pi.
For several months, I have been conducting in-depth durability tests on this series, including storage and operational cycles under extreme and highly variable temperature conditions.
A detailed report will be published, covering a one-year period and based on multiple samples.
