Just read an interesting article from @HarvardBiz on #employeeengagement in relation to productivity.
In short, engagement ≠ productivity.
IMO, investing in employees or programs that empower intrinsic motivation is the ideal route. Intrinsic motivation doesn't fade away.
My visual presentation style: minimal text, 0 distracting animations, subtle color palette. The visual presentation should not be the focus, the content of the presentation should be.
