My whole capstone experience has been
"interesting" by far. I say "interesting" because it really pushes me to grow and expand on my overall agenda in the field I would like to pursue (cybersecurity). I came into this class reserved and now I am stretching my voice. @mrnesi
Volkswagen caused a delay in locating an abducted 2-year-old inside a stolen car because the vehicle's GPS subscription had expired. The detective explained the situation, but VW wouldn't budge.
This is the innovation that capitalism offers.
"Give us $150 or the kid gets it!"
Information is everywhere and can be used maliciously or with good intentions which is why it s important. Information is held as very valuable to people, which is why people keep it to themselves and get upset other people getting access to their "treasure."
When it comes to this course, an in-class take-away for me is the change in information spread and how information runs everything in computers and social constructs. Information is resource such as gasoline to a vehicle or electricity to a computer. #DCIM353McCormick
@kgps60 I can definitely picture this but I'm sure there would be a big number of people who would be skeptical about it as people are on about privacy and giving higher authorities too much control.
@YuhanXie4 I can definitely picture this with how much it is already utilized daily even for the smallest tasks. I just wonder what boundaries there would be with this technology.
@rylayru I have heard rumors of there being a ban on motor vehicles running on gas by 2035, which would complicate industries with there being a shift in demand. Sure it's lower pressure when it comes to fossil fuel but it's more pressure on electric power industry.
I believe that vehicles will require facial recognition in the future to start up the engine, helping out against theft and linking it against traffic violations, seeing who was in the driver seat of the vehicle when incidents happen. #DCIM353McCormick
@Jesshandzo Thank you, I would also add that it would be good to know samples of both low-end and new market disruption to gain more clarity on what they are.
@JoeBrutgers Hi Joe,
I did take notes of this with anticipation to see it on the midterm. I just hope to see other questions where we utilize examples or cases where one would be applied.
I been hugging onto these slides for the longest, but I think one thing we need to keep in mind when taking the exam is the effects of digital technology in the digital age (digital connections) which is discussed in week 5 #DCIM353McCormick
@JoeBrutgers Hey Joe, I almost chose this topic as well, video games have been around even before I was born and I have been intrigued in seeing the expansion of how creators find new ways for gamers to play with VR existing.
@Jesshandzo Hi Jess, Instagram has had quite some history ever since it first released and has come a long way, it is still one of the social media apps that I hold on to. This would be a perfect topic to discuss.
For my EDTP project, I plan to research 5G data because it's a new transition from 4G and like all new things, people are skeptical about it. Sooner or later I will even find myself getting a device that is 5G capable. #DCIM353McCormick
