A big takeaway from this course is how much the internet is a part of our daily lives. We are so used to it now that we really don't think of it. But so many things that we talk about and think about in our daily lives revolve around the internet.

@YuhanXie4 3D printing is starting to be used in lots of different fields. It makes a lot of sense in healthcare, for very small, precise, details. It is also being used in different types of engineering, and even architecture.
@JennyDukhan These are good points, I feel like lots of people just associate VR with video games, but there are a lot of real-world uses for VR that can help a lot of professionals.
@julianatoli_ru This is a good point, and AI is being implemented into more and more technologies, allowing them to be smarter than ever, it has endless possibilities
I think electric cars will become much cheaper and much more popular in the next few decades, and most cars will be electric in 20-40 years

@dm_1498 Hi Daniel,
This is a good point, and it will definitely be important to be able to discuss the positives and negatives of Christensen's theory and apply it to examples.
I think knowing the difference between disruptive technologies and disruptive innovations and what makes each what they are will be important for the test.

@briannebrownRU Hi Brianne, while we have discussed social media a lot in this class, its a great idea to talk about short form media like tiktok and what has made it hugely successful. It will be interesting to learn about the affects of this type of media has on people and other apps.
@refai_reshma Hi Reshma, this is a really interesting topic. I have always found this fascinating, and it is refreshing to hear something new that we haven't discussed in class. It will also be interesting to hear about the moral side of this topic, and how it will expand in the future.
@IMDLR_ Hi Ian, this is a really good topic, and unique as something we haven't discussed before in this class. I love smart home technology, and am always interested in its advantages over regular "dumb" appliances and features in a home.
For my EDTP project, I plan on discussing Airbnb and how it has changed how we plan and book vacations or stays anywhere. As someone who has stayed in many airbnbs, I look forward to using my personal experience to relate to topics discussed in this class.

@MooreKyere This is very true, and it can lead to a lot of connections that wouldn't have ever happened. Someone with a similar career or hobby can see the mutual interests in someone's bio and reach out.
@Matt_Eps I agree, where the younger generation gets their news from has changed - it is hard for me to imagine someone younger reading the newspaper or going to a news website - instead they would get it from social media as they are already on these sites often and it is easier to read
@nav470 I think this is becoming more popular as people want to have everything digital, and carry less physical things around. I love the idea of only having my phone to carry around. I don't know if I would call this disruptive, as we are still using credit cards technically.
One change in society related to the digital age is the increasing of popularity of gig jobs (doordash/uber driver). I would say this change is disruptive as a company is able to gain "employees" quickly, working in these new areas.
