There is a reason companies underperform after joining the S&P 500. S&P 500 requires 4 quarters in a row of gaap earnings to be eligible to join. Growth companies finally achieving this run up, get added to the S&P 500, then lag the S&P 500 for years after joining. They are late to add them.
