We’re super fortunate to have flexible jobs and could both make it, but there were lots of kiddos who didn’t have a parent there because that’s not enough time to plan for a day off or even to rearrange some schedules.

@maiab I’m not sure where you’re located, but I live in a rural area where this is super common. Mom is a nurse, dad works in a factory. Dad is a teacher, mom is a physical therapy assistant. Mom works in a salon where schedules are booked months in advance, Dad is a police officer.
