@GlobalEdmonton 70% of town has ���little to no damage”. A lot looks just like Jasper townsite pre-wildfire. The air quality is really bad (also due to toxic fumes from structure fires). No Gas/power for most of town. Parks Canada superintendent says most animals in area are doing fine.

Premier Smith toured the Jasper townsite where flames destroyed hundreds of properties this week. She spoke with our @MorganRBlack afterwards about the damage, which destroyed the home the town's mayor had lived in his entire life, saying it was hard to see. #yeg #Jasper

I spoke with a Jasper volunteer firefighter who watched her home burn Wednesday night while protecting her community.

Her message to all who love Jasper:

“I choose to focus on the positive... there’s a lot of buildings left. There’s a lot of town left.”

Thousands of Edmonton Oilers fans have descended upon the outdoor viewing areas at Rogers Place. As @MorganRBlack explains, some tried to storm gates, leading to medics being called as panic set in. As of 5:18 p.m., @EdmontonPolice said the fan parks have reached capacity. #yeg
