Wafula Chebukati is the former chairman of the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC).
He was appointed to the position in January 2017 and oversaw Kenyaβs general elections in 2017 and 2022. His tenure was marked by controversy, including the annulment of the 2017 presidential election by the Supreme Court and divisions within the IEBC during the 2022 election. Before joining the IEBC, Chebukati had a long career in law and previously vied for a parliamentary seat in 2007.
