Global fuel prices continue to trend downward following recent diplomatic progress between the United States and Iran, while the Uganda Shilling has strengthened against the US Dollar, with the exchange rate improving from about UGX 3,800 to UGX 3,600 per dollar. These developments significantly reduce the cost of importing petroleum products. In light of these favorable market conditions, petroleum companies operating in Uganda should pass on the benefits to consumers through lower pump prices. Ugandans deserve timely and fair price adjustments that reflect global realities. Pump prices should be reviewed and reduced within the next month to ease the cost of living.@R_Nabbanja@DrMusenero@henrymusasizi1

Should we assume this is the New Turn around time for such complaints. Anyway hariho ebyana na'bana
I missed this Cabinet debate while away, but as someone who did internship, private interns must be paid. The workload in our referral & district hospitals is heavy and full-time. I’m engaging the President to re-table this; we must find the money to fund all interns. #CapitalFM
I come from Rukungiri District, Bwambara Sub-county.
Bwambara covers approximately 513 square kilometers and has a population of about 32,143 people.
Despite this, there is no Health Centre IV in the entire sub county, only Health Centre IIIs. This means the highest level of care available is largely dependent on clinical officers.
In summary, there is not a single medical doctor serving that entire population.
For a mother to undergo a Caesarean section, she must travel about 60 km to Rukungiri Town and seek care from private facilities such as Nyakibare Hospital, or continue another 20 km to Kisizi Hospital, both private institutions.
So when people ask whether Uganda has enough doctors, the answer is simple: No, we do not.📌
@fsnakazibwe@DrOribaDan Thank you @fsnakazibwe for appreciating the Anaesthesiologist (Specialists), Senior Anaesthetic Officer (Graduate) and Anaesthetists (Advanced Diploma holders). Very critical, ticks who, how, and when to operate.
Nekilala...ku #NoPay for Intern Doctors okyogelakoki.
What killed the intern doctor was not the calling to serve. It was the silence around the struggles many young health professionals endure every day.
As we grieve this loss, let us remember that compassion must extend beyond patients to those who care for them.
For years, medical interns have protested to increase their monthly allowance from 750,000 UGX. Despite the Head of State’s pledge to fulfill the increment to 2,500,000 UGX, and in the face of a skyrocketing cost of living, the government has found a brilliant solution to the high cost of living; scrapping the allowance entirely instead of raising it. Apparently, when food, rent, and medical care become too expensive, doctors are expected to live on pure patriotism.
With this new development, the crisis in our public health centers will only get more dire.
Friends, this is no longer just an interns' battle, it is a crisis that affects every single Ugandan. We must all demand a fair treatment for our frontline health workers.

Have you been to any Government Hospital or a Faith based PNFP Hospital. That young Doctor that received you (or your patient) - with a sparkling white clinical coat, often goes on the phone to a consultant for complicated cases. (S)he is an Intern Doctor.
Deserves to be paid.
