Stablecoins might be one of the most important pieces of infrastructure Cardano needs to grow.

And the recent @USDMOfficial minting activity is worth paying attention to.

We've seen several large mints:
💵 2.0M USDM
💵 3.9M USDM
💵 2.82M USDM

The latest shown pushes total supply to roughly 13.37M USDM.

Why does this matter?

Businesses don't want to receive $100,000 today and discover it's worth $92,000 tomorrow because the asset they were paid in dropped 8%.

They need something predictable.

That's where stablecoin rails become interesting.

USD → USDM → Cardano → Smart Contract → Business/User

Payments. Settlement. Escrow. DeFi. Treasury management. On/off-ramps.

For me, this is particularly interesting because payment and escrow infrastructure is exactly the type of thing I'm building around.

If we want real businesses using Cardano, we need more than tokens people trade. We need the boring financial infrastructure underneath everything.

Large USDM mints don't automatically mean millions in institutional capital has entered Cardano. We can't tell from these transactions alone who is minting or where every USDM will ultimately be used.

But more stablecoin liquidity gives builders more infrastructure to work with.

The bigger question isn't how much @USDMOfficial gets minted.

It's what gets built around that liquidity once it's on Cardano.

What applications could actually bring meaningful stablecoin volume onto Cardano?

Cardano scaling is not one magic switch.

Hydra, Leios and Peras are solving different problems: local throughput, input endorsement, and faster settlement.

Next challenge is packaging that so normal users feel it.

Which one shows up in UX first? I haven't seen much!

I went into @draper_u thinking I was refining a Cardano startup idea.

I came out thinking very differently about how I build companies.

For four weeks in Silicon Valley, the Genesis program forced me to question market size, customer validation, fundraising, go-to-market, trust, security, and whether what I was building was actually a business.

The original idea was a Web3 bounty platform.

That eventually led me somewhere much more interesting: programmable escrow and stablecoin payment infrastructure.

In this video, I go through the full experience, including pitching @TimDraper, getting the pitch wrong before getting it right, learning to validate before building, and how those lessons are now shaping @MoshiConcepts and Hokan.
