@CJHandmer After two harness replacements I finally pulled my wire harness and wrapped it with two layers of Kevlar twill fabric, then wrapped the whole thing in Honda hot pepper oil infused electrical tape. Also got two outdoor cats. No problems since.
Are you minimizing the wife approval factor with your builds anon? Are you throwing aesthetics to the wind in pursuit of performance? If not, youβre NGMI.
Havenβt had time to work on the Universal Miner Thermostat, but itβs been working for me keeping my garage at 60 degrees for weeks now. Iβve had to restart a hashboard twice, but other than that itβs been rock solid!
@mrmasternode@CincoDoggos I just tap into the PWM wire in the fan, itβs in the square protrusion on the side of the fan. Easy control with arduino/esp32/pi
@MolonLabeVC Good question, this is optimized for two things: 1. Universality and 2. Bedrooms. I run my fans constant speed all the time (theyβre very quiet) so that there is no sound change during operation. This is critical for not disrupting sleep. Curtail = simple and always works.
Getting close to a functioning, universal miner thermostat. No Home Assistant needed.
1. Plug device into Ethernet
2. Set IP of miner (miner must use luxOS firmware)
3. Set goal temp
Thatβs it! Your miner will toggle curtail on and off to maintain the goal temp in the room. Running fans at constant speed makes the miner hardly noticeable, even in bedrooms. Likely cannot get any easier to start heating with bitcoin miners.
@SatStackingPleb@MolonLabeVC@Silexperience@mrmasternode I asked @luxor for this in person at last years heat punk summit and the answer I got was that development for heating applications is not very high on their priority list. Maybe things are different now.
