@NinaPanickssery Lol grandparents don't want to help. It's insane since I'm pretty sure my grandparents raised me more than my own parents, yet the boomer generation can't be bothered. They prefer to ask for pictures to then repost on social media pretending like they were with their grandkids.

2. your job has no regulatory moat
3. your job is high-paying (higher replacement priority)
I think a lot of software βengineersβ are gonna have to face up to the fact that the job was fundamentally not that hard in the first place and a lot of the complexity was not inherent to the problem domain but was only there for purposes of gatekeeping and job security.

@BecomingCritter The first situation you describe sounds a lot like dating someone with borderline personality disorder. It's not easy...for either side...and tbh I was not cut out for it and thankfully got out.
