@ShantDotMe @HarveyAlvy1 This is a great point. Children have the right to know and be educated about important issues. Our jobs as teachers is to educate. to make sure students are aware of the facts and think critically about them. This takes away rights from both the teacher and the student. #Edchat

not teaching current racial events is extremely foolish. How are children suppose to contribute to solving the very real issues of race when they aren't aware of, can't critically think about and analyze one of the major issues facing us today #edchat

Depends on what the law entails. If it's a blanket ban then it is a definite infringement. Race is an important part of a persons identity and not mentioning is just ignoring reality. It suppresses someone's right to express an important part of someone's identity. #edchat
