I love and hate prepping someone for a deposition.

To make them understand how a deposition works, the first question I ask is, “Do you know what time it is?”

Nearly every single time, the person will either check his or her watch, or look up at a clock. Then, they will say “Yes, it is 10:30.”

At this point I just smile and shake my head. “No.” Then, I explain why their answer is wrong:

I asked if they knew the time. Not what time it was currently.

Me: “So what would your answer be then?”

Witness: “Yes.”

Me: “Wrong.”

They didn’t know the time, because they had to look at a watch or clock.

There's a hotel I know where waiters are paid a retainer of 500/- per day + a one hour sales split. For every shift ya 6 hours, there's 1 extra hour where they split what they sell with the owner 50/50, bora receipts zionyeshe it was within that time. Then the waiters contribute a small part of their share to sort the cooks.

But that free hour is strictly not during peak time. Also, they sell food on usual prices, no exxageration, as the receipts will show. This has turned the staff into a highly motivated and very aggressive team working in perfect unison like clockwork. Cooks bring their A-game, waiters offer high class service making lazy hours look like peak hours.

Excuse the language but….Holy Fucking Shit….I realise not everyone is into Tennis but Novak Djokovic has to be in the conversation for one of the greatest sportsmen of all time across all sports.

He has just played for 5 hrs 15 minutes straight in horrible, humid, draining heat in London (I’m here and it’s bloody horrible)…..and he won…again. Against the number 3 ranked player. Novak is 39 yrs old. Messi is 38 and everyone is lauding him as a god for his performances in the World Cup. To put it into perspective Djokovic just played three and a half entire football matches on the spin in that heat. It’s insane, it should be impossible, but for him it’s not.

And bear in mind not only the greatest ever on the court but a full blown legend off it. He did not buckle to the Covid and vaccine bullies, he stood his ground, defended his morals and refused to buckle. He defends his faith, loves his family and has never had a moments scandal. The internet is mostly bots arguing with humans who are trying to prove they aren’t bots.

You can summon a car, groceries, a doctor, a date, a private jet, or a dog walker from your phone.

People pay real money for invisible currencies, digital monkeys, AI girlfriends and pictures that disappear after 24 hours.

The richest companies in the world don’t sell oil, steel, or cars. They sell attention, compute, data, and addiction.

And somehow, after all of that everyone is still using Excel.

This hotel EOI near Kabalega Airport exposes a familiar loophole in our planning.

We build public infrastructure, create demand with taxpayers’ money, then design the opportunity in a way that only large foreign or elite capital can enter.

Why must the first imagination be one big 300-room hotel? Why not a distributed hospitality model where surrounding Ugandan homesteads, guest houses and SMEs are upgraded, certified, financed and connected to a common booking system?

A serious government would use this airport to build local ownership, not just local employment.

Tourism should not turn citizens into cleaners and guards of markets created on their own land.

Build the airport. Build the hotel if necessary. But also build the Ugandan owner.

Ojok says Gongodyo’s death should not be treated as an isolated incident, citing police crime reports on mob-related killings in recent years.

He wants Government and Police to present a clear strategy on response time, prevention and prosecution of mob justice cases.
