Really enjoyed training today from @GuerrillaEd - our curriculum is a long way off but definitely something to strive towards. Also, what presentation format did you use?!
@thelazyteacher Thanks. I really appreciate that. I totally agreed with everything you said today so will definitely find the book really useful. Have a good Easter hols with the kids!
Loved my fajitas tonight that extra little bit more thanks to @thelazyteacher 😂😂😂 had them at 8pm on the dot! Loved the CPD today 👍🏻 lots of great ideas 💡
Learnt something new today: Great tip for getting children to identify active voice and passive voice is by adding ‘by zombies’ to the end of the sentence. If it makes sense, then it’s passive. If it doesn’t, it’s active! Easy for the kids to remember 😂
@FakeHeadteacher @HarfordSean I understand your point. Unfortunately I don’t think SATS are going to just go away. So we should teach the children that they are important and have aspirations for them to do well. In any walk of life, if you want good results, you must work hard and spend time doing it.
@FakeHeadteacher @HarfordSean I personally enjoy running the SATS booster sessions and seeing the children wanting to succeed by turning up voluntarily. We have biscuits and squash and there is a really good atmosphere as we are all aiming towards doing well.
I’m really looking forward to getting this up and running. We want to create an environment where the children can read what they want. If a child reads ANYTHING in the week, they will be able to contribute towards their class total. 📖
The best thing about Twitter is the sharing of ideas and resources. It goes to show that teachers aren’t bothered about league tables and more bothered about improving their teaching.
@JenniferC_O@_Reading_Rocks_ I haven’t thought about that yet! I may sellotape one at the top so you can still see the children underneath! Good thinking though 👍🏻
By the start of Term 5, every children’s book in our school will have a sticker in the front allowing the children to write their name to show that they recommend it. It will increase the amount of discussion about a book and finally allow us to monitor the most popular books 📖
As a treat for #InternationalWomensDay we're giving away a copy of the bestselling Women in Sport by @ignotofsky, published @wrenandrookbook!
