“Great schools are not just led by the administration; they are led by teachers too. In great schools everyone owns the vision...and everyone is on a mission.” #EssentialTruths@SteeleThoughts@ToddWhitaker
#ActOnReconciliation - Reconciliation is not just one day a year.
We're grateful that the @cityofsaskatoon is supporting this campaign with a suggestion to learn why Land Acknowledgments matter and how to create yours: https://t.co/wbpjCDlP0d
Truth. Reconciliation. Action.
Huge shout out to the dedication, flexibility and professionalism of all our substitute teachers, support staff and caretaking staff. We would be lost without you! @GSCSNews
Sometimes stepping back and attuning ourselves to small signs of progress gives us the affirmation we need to move forward. Small signs of progress compounding often lead to, what may look like an, instant success if we weren’t paying attention along the way.
If you haven’t followed the work of @AdamMGrant this thread would be a great introduction. I’ve found his work reasoned, measured and broadly applicable. One of my 2022 goals is to actualize more of the ideas I’ve been exposed to in interacting with his work.
@swimcoachbrad@AdamMGrant@coachgambetta I’d say what you are both saying can be true at the same time. I believe culture is dictated by the “worst”behaviour tolerated….. what that “worst behaviour” (or best for that matter) is may change based on whether a culture is designed for giving or taking.
Meaning is about making a difference, not having an audience.
It's better to be valued by a few than to be known by many.
Your contribution is not the scope of your reach. It's the depth of your impact.
Your legacy is not how many footprints you leave. It's how long they last.
“If the practice ofmath homework sortsstudents unequally, it might also operate to justify those inequalities.” A question that begs reflection..... do our practices (well intentioned as they may be) narrow gaps or allow existing inequities to persist? https://t.co/32kOaIaDcH
Holy Family Snow Day Challenge! We are challenging you to get outside and make the coolest snowman you can make. Be creative and have fun! We will put everyone name in a draw and select a winner on Friday! #hfsnowday2020
I've always maintained that there is a difference between what's urgent & what's important - keeping this in mind has never been more important than right now - keep the main thing, the main thing!
Was it just me or did any other educators need to be reminded of this last week? Huge shout out to the @holyfamily2014 staff and families for staying flexible as we welcomed students back!
In 2020 it feels like we’re living in pot of boiling water. When placed in the pot an 🥚 is hardened. A 🥕 is weakened. Don’t be like either. Instead be like the coffee bean. It transforms the water into ☕️. You have the power inside you to transform your environment.
Hallmarks of a lifelong learner:
Showing less interest in defending your beliefs than exploring your beliefs
Being less concerned about rationalizing your decisions than growing from your mistakes
Paying as much attention to where your critics are right as why they're wrong

On #IndigenousPeoplesDay, I celebrate #Indigenous people.
We have achieved through hardship, & survived through continual calculated devastation.
We did this with ceremony, cooperation, & belly laughs.
I celebrate this.

Just getting ready for a tour of Willogrove tomorrow at 10:00 to visit @holyfamily2014 students and families! Wish it could be more than a honk and a wave from the street but we will take what we can get! We are all so excited to see you! #separatetogether@ConnieTenaski
