BREAKING: The raid on Rep. Omar's home might have been the most brilliant political trap in American history, and Democrats are falling right into it. The implications for the November midterm elections cannot be understated.

Journalist Robert Sterling theorized the reasoning behind the order of events and why President Trump chose to take action today in the manner that he did.

"The DOJ likely already had all the evidence needed to indict Ilhan Omar (otherwise, a federal judge wouldn’t have authorized a search warrant this close to an election). If I had to guess, the indictments were ready to file weeks ago," Sterling wrote.

"The raid today was bait to get Democratic candidates on the record supporting Omar. “I stand with Ilhan,” “Ilhan is the best of America,” etc. When the DOJ unveils the indictments in two weeks, every Democrat publicly supporting her today has egg on their face. The trap is sprung right before Americans head to the voting booth," he added.

"This isn’t even 3D chess. It’s checkers-level political strategy, and the Democrats are still marching straight into it. They really are completely oblivious," he concluded.

Sterling's comments came as a reaction to far-left Rep. Tlaib's response to the raid on Omar's home.

"DHS raiding a member of congress's home is exactly what a fascist police state does," Tlaib wrote, panicking.

"This president should not be able to weaponize the federal government against political enemies. I stand with Ilhan," she concluded.

For years, the Democrats mocked President Trump, saying "Nobody is above the law".

It appears now would be a good time for them to keep that same energy.

I was a criminal investigator for a private contractor with TS clearance. I’ve been on warrant raids. I know what it takes to get a warrant; extremely frustrating and difficult.
This morning, Homeland Security Investigations agents executed a judicially authorized search warrant at Omar’s DC-area home as part of an ongoing federal criminal investigation for immigration fraud.
A home search warrant is not handed out lightly. A federal judge reviewed the evidence and found probable cause that incriminating material would be found. That is a high bar, especially for a sitting member of Congress three weeks before the midterms.
@Ilhan says she’s being targeted by a political enemy. Federal judges do not sign these warrants because someone on Twitter is mad. They sign them when the government presents evidence.
No charges have been filed yet. This is not a conviction. It is, however, the clearest sign yet that the long-running allegations about her immigration history have moved from political talking points into an active federal criminal investigation.
Even worse for Ilhan, she now will possibly (and hopefully) face federal RICO charges for the Minnesota fraud scandals, carrying up to 20 years in prison.
Arrest her. Convict her. Imprison her. When she gets out of prison, deport her.
Either way, her career as an American politician is over.
