@TonyMetroMLB Albert Pujols may turn out to be a good manager, but the #Mets need an experienced manager with a proven track record of success. They need a steadying hand to help fix the culture and point them in the right direction - similar to what Buck Showalter did for them.
@Ben_Yoel It’s a travesty that Carlos Mendoza wasn’t fired a week ago. Steve Cohen has to start holding people accountable for the #Mets terrible play. Mendoza cannot be allowed to manage another game for this organization.
@TonyMetroMLB I understand that this abysmal performance by the #Mets isn’t entirely Mendoza’s fault, but accountability needs to begin somewhere. It is insane that he is still managing this team.
The @Mets are an absolute embarrassment right now. You can’t fire the players, so it may not be long before you have to think about firing Carlos Mendoza. They can’t take a wait-and-see approach this season.
@FarmToFlushing I always felt the #Mets would have ended their World Series draught if you added Brian Cole to the offensive core of David Wright, Jose Reyes and Carlos Beltran. Cole was that good!
@PSLToFlushing@Jolly_Olive If the #Mets had made the playoffs in 2025 and lost, I think Stearns would have still traded away Nimmo and McNeil and traded for Peralta. There is also a good chance that Alonso and Diaz would still be w/ the Mets. The team’s failure last year justified the reboot of the roster.
@WexlerRules@keithlaw@Mets If I’m the #Mets, I’m looking to trade Semien (and cash) to another team for a platoon OF bat and then playing Bichette at 2B and Baty at 3B.
@PSLToFlushing@SNYtv@ConnorJRogers At this point, the #Mets would be better off just playing the youngsters (especially with a long work stoppage on the horizon). However, how can they realistically do that and punt 1-2 years of Juan Soto’s prime years? It’s what makes their off-season game plan so baffling.
@PSLToFlushing@SNYtv@ConnorJRogers I don’t blame Sterns and Cohen for losing out on Tucker. However, I do blame them for having to go all-in on Tucker to salvage their abysmal off-season game plan. Losing Diaz and letting Alonso walk is how I would expect a Wilpons-era FO to perform.
@PSLToFlushing@ConnorJRogers Honestly, I have no idea what the #Mets off-season plan was b/c they haven’t addressed their biggest flaw from last year (their starting pitching), but got significantly worse on offense. Sterns has had a miserable performance so far this off-season.
@PSLToFlushing@ConnorJRogers The #Mets off-season blew up in their faces. You could have brought back Alonso, Diaz and Nimmo and simply upgraded the starting pitching and they’d be ready to contend. Instead, they are much weaker on paper w/o many impact options remaining. What an utter disaster!
This is how you do it! In a cutthroat world, where folks are constantly stealing content/information from one another, here are 2 of the best supporting each other and guiding fans to the appropriate subject matter expert. It’s why @ernestdove & @bkfan09 are such trusted sources.
In this regard I defer to this sites IFA expert @bkfan09 who has info overall leading to believe Wandy may ultimately be even better as a ceiling between the two.
@PSLToFlushing@BenBadler@BaseballAmerica#Mets landing Elian Peña and Wandy Asigen the last two years will be a real boost to their farm system. Too bad they lost Alfredo Sena to the Braves for 2027 as it would have made for an impressive IFA signing streak.
