@SaucercrabZero Agree. It's very much people just screaming about the thing they have that's hard. It's both harder and easier nowadays, just depends on the area of interest

I talked to a poet today who told me he now writes 10,000 lines of poetry a day thanks to AI. That’s probably the limit case. He’s an experienced bard, he knows the muses well, and he is using AI 12 hours a day. But he’s not naive. This is not 10,000 lines of doggerel.
Every aspect of life in an authoritarian bureaucracy is gerrymandered like this. For example, it is illegal for me to carry a switchblade with a blade longer than two inches, but legal for me to carry a gun.
If I have a gun then it has to be concealed. Carrying it openly is very very illegal. If I want an unconcealed weapon, then I can have a knife. But only in a sheath at my waist, because concealing a knife is illegal. Unless it’s a folding knife—it’s legal to conceal a folding knife.
This is how everything works.

Mass literacy was a mistake
Destin from SmarterEveryDay ran a four year long experiment to try and make a product completely in the United States and, well… unless Americans start making their own tooling again, they’ll always be at the mercy of China.
It’s not enough to manufacture things. You have to make the tools to manufacture things be in control of those machines.
I know I am starting to sound like a hippie, but once you get old you realize that true wealth is free time, peace of mind, a healthy family, and at least 50 million dollars in assets.
