The CEO of Mercedes-Benz U.S. sent this letter to Alabama workers urging them not to unionize with @UAW. Sounds pretty desperate.
"I hope you'll give me a chance," he writes.
Labor fed @IndustriALL_GU says Mercedes is violating a neutrality pact.

@mmt_cz@StephanieKelton@ProfSteveKeen and i agree with your point about deficit leading to higher investment rates, now I'm thinking: isn't the trick in the difference between deficit spending (which author concedes is OK) and high debt (which he says is problem long-term)?
@StephanieKelton@ProfSteveKeen@mmt_cz can you explain to me-a non-economist-if there's anything wrong with this argument against deficit-tun econ? https://t.co/SlI5f588yv TLDR: high public debt impedes eco growth
@mmt_cz@StephanieKelton@ProfSteveKeen talking about Japan, just two months ago it declared an end to low interest rates, signaling (as i read it) an end to it's positive attitude toward deficit spending, here's the why https://t.co/KoHgAlE8Bh doesn't that speak exactly against what you say and for what I've shared?
@mmt_cz@StephanieKelton@ProfSteveKeen "..during deep recessions or financial crises." and the source of "large agreement among academics" https://t.co/RdcjC2ohaf
@mmt_cz@StephanieKelton@ProfSteveKeen "..can temporarily boost growth, and high debt, which tends to have negative long-term consequences. Academic economists largely agree that very high debt levels can impede economic growth, both by crowding out private investment and by narrowing the scope for fiscal stimulus.."
@mmt_cz@StephanieKelton@ProfSteveKeen yes I've read both Steve Keen and Stephanie Kelton, what I wonder is this:the author claims that this has a negative long-term consequence of impeding the economic growth, and hence we should refrain from excess deficit spending,I ask: is there anything wrong with that reasoning?
@mmt_cz@StephanieKelton@ProfSteveKeen sure, i know the basics, however here, i guess, the author just draws on (unfortunate) metaphor, i dont think it affects their argument, tho
Palestine solidarity activists spray-painted the UK’s Ministry of Defense (MOD) for its complicity in Israel’s war on the Gaza Strip.
The activists used fire extinguishers to paint the ministry before police arrived. Five activists were arrested during the action.
The organizing group “Youth Demand” stated that the MOD has given contracts worth hundreds of millions of pounds to Elbit Systems, buying Israeli weapons after they are “battle-tested” on the Palestinian people.
