It never makes sense to attack developers in the face of cheating in games. Devs are on the side of the players. They don't want this happening as much as you don't. They also can't communicate everything they are doing at all times.

There are legal hurdles, financial implications, and they would be tipping their hands to the attackers. Fog of war goes both ways.

The only thing I would suggest is letting players know you care as developers exactly as he is doing here.
