Do you remember when you joined X? I do! #MyXAnniversary
Well, actually I joined Twitter. I am still on Twitter. I await the day that Musk goes away and whoever takes it over gives Twitter its proper name back. #MyTwitterAnniversary
@PowerDubs@atari The new one. I do own an original 2600 (black edition), but it only connects via old aerial cable! Love the "reboot" edition, though, as it plays all my old cartridges, and the joystick is just as cramp-inducing as the original.
I've worked with Chris for years now, and was lucky enough to go on last year's Battlefields trip as a volunteer staff member. In as unbiased a manner as possible, I can honestly say this is well deserved :)

@EdnaKrabapple1 My daughter just started at my school so no more nipping out 2 mins before the bell to beat the traffic! I'm now there until 5pm every night as she's signed up for so many after-school clubs!
Note - pretty much given up on Twitter now that they've canned Tweetdeck. Too much hassle to monitor multiple accounts. Musk has strangled the blue bird.
🎾 Congratulations to Luisa & Lucas of 3rd Year who competed at @Wimbledon this summer as part of @the_LTA 'Play Your Way to Wimbledon' National Finals, having secured their spots by winning area finals. Both competed brilliantly, with Lucas making it all the way to the final!
@TheHEcTeacher@EdnaKrabapple1@MrsBezoari My phone has an X, but the app is still called "Twitter". No way to change it back without rooting the phone, apparently. Don't tell the, but old Tweetdeck still has birds :)
@EdnaKrabapple1 It wouldn't matter if he did. Remember Swinney "meeting teachers" then ploughing ahead with his own agenda with the tagline "after consulting teaching staff". Which mean he'd met us, and then roundly ignored us but didn't mention that bit.
@axmthompson In my experience, job ads will go up when the term starts so kids will have supply / cover / non-subject teachers until the vacancies are filled (several weeks) with staff on rolling temporary contracts. Because a) staff are unimportant, and b) so are the pupils
@NUthmani Daughter has just taken up a position with another council, advertised as "temporary". Interviewers explained this is normal. She won't be paid over summer, but will be rehired next academic year if she wants as school want continuity. LA, obviously, don't give a sh*t.
@NUthmani I attended two days in-service (unpaid as I wasn't in paid employment for the days immediately after) ensuring handover to the colleague who would be covering for me went smoothly. From what I hear this (10-11 years later) is still standard procedure across many LAs.
@NUthmani Towards end of following summer hols I was instructed not to come in for first two weeks of following academic year. Head teacher was hugely apologetic and had tried to get council to recant. Purely to break contract. (contd)
