I've had to make peace with the fact that learning new concepts in programming takes time, it can be days, weeks or months.
At the end of the day you can never rush the process.

I wrote down exactly who I want to be and what I want my life to look like. then I asked what does he do. how does he start his day. what does he eat. when does he sleep. how does he handle the hard conversations. what does his work look like. I wrote all of it down. then I just started doing it. you don't have to feel like him first. you act like him until you are him.
The biggest asset you have as a man is not even money. Its your confidence.
You need to have an almost delusional confidence in the capabilities God has entrusted to you.
Marcus Aurelius was right when he said the crowd will forget you no matter what you do. So the only real question is whether you spent your years chasing their approval or actually living for yourself.
& if you check yourself and realize you come from an average family that isn’t supportive enough, that your parents aren’t also financially comfortable
pay close attention;
if you know that within 24 hrs, your entire family coming together still couldn’t raise at least $10,000 in this economy, stay out of trouble. i’m telling you that for free. you have no business chasing endless enjoyment or la vida loca. your place is on the battlefield, working relentlessly on yourself.
i will always tell the younger generation the truth: poverty is far more damaging than most people understand.
if a sibling falls critically ill and the entire family still can’t raise enough money for treatment or surgery, that’s a reality you cannot ignore. i’ve also heard of people who secured life changing opportunities abroad, even free visas or contracts but lost em cos they couldn’t afford the flight ticket and their family couldn’t support.
if deep down you know this could be your reality or fate, make it your mission to break that cycle.
there should be days you need to go totally offline, switch off your phone, ignore distractions and focus completely on becoming better than you were yesterday. the consequences of being a young man without money or a strong support system can be brutal. that’s why, while you’re still coming up, treat your growth like a responsibility, not an option.
walk with me to learn
buena suerte as you do so 👍
The brain is designed to learn through constant repetition and active, hands-on involvement. Through such practice and persistence, any skill can be mastered.
The black man will amount to precisely nothing of lasting importance in this world until he masters two basic things—celebrating the genuine successes of others without that petty, seething resentment, and learning to absorb criticism like an adult instead of throwing tantrums.
Men,
Your work is your source of income,
Your source of income is sacred.
The source of your income is not the place to prove your sexual prowess,
Zip up while at work.
Don't sleep with colleagues or employees.
Respect your source of income.

Developer who posts about what they’re building, gets a DM from a CTO, lands a contract.
Developer who only posts motivational content gets likes from other developers who also need jobs.
The content you put out signals what you’re worth to the people with money to spend.
Build in public. Show the work, not the wisdom.
I am an Engineer by profession, the business bit and startups are a consequence of what I build needing to be sold. I learnt something very interesting when we started selling the pool table devices from QuePay. It is the one vertical where we had real competition, a lot of the others were cheaper but we still get sales and this is from people who are familiar with the others who are cheaper.
So sometimes, especially with the pool automation devices we have to tell people that the devices we have have all been pre-ordered and they will have to wait for like a week before we restock (we have fixed this now btw haha), to which they pay and wait.
Initially we were pulling our hair trying to figure out how to price around what everyone else was so that we don’t lose clientelle. But eventually we just decided to price it right, factor in the inputs, since it is a premium product so it will obviously be a tad more expensive, then sell it at the right price.
My point: more than cost, people(customers) value the brand and reliability( translated: peace of mind). The client believes in your service delivery then unless you are astronomically priced, then they will pay.
Anyway we have built a payment solution for automated systems like vending machines, laundry machines, milk/water and cooking oil ATMs, gaming systems and arcades foosball, PS/FIFA places and most recently pool tables.

It’s okay to burn the midnight oil just to buy a competition trim BMW.
It’s okay for every contract negotiation to be influenced by it.
It’s okay to leave your girl for being Mercedes minded. You’re trying raise a BMW family.
It’s okay to block that friend that tells you BMWs are expensive to maintain. Life fucks us all at least have a say in the position you prefer.

Men,
Pray for your fellow men.
I do this every morning.
Men are silently in pain.
A man might look jovial but, he is in pain, tears, betrayal, struggles, and wasted years.
If we hold a man's hand, and light up his dream, we are lighting up the future.
