Chennai Airport is spread over approximately 1,300+ acres. The adjacent Officers Training Academy (OTA) occupies around 750 acres. Together, that’s nearly 2,000+ acres in a prime city location.

Despite operational challenges, Chennai Airport remains one of the few major airports located right within a city, rather than 70–100 km outside like many new ones.

What looks good in theory may not always work in reality -but there’s nothing wrong with exploring options.

One practical idea: The state could provide OTA with more land on the outskirts of Chennai and support the development of their new campus.

In return, the existing prime land could be used for airport expansion. We could even offer OTA the entire 1700 acres already acquired in Parandur.

I’m not sure if the Defence Ministry and the Army would be open to this, but the state government could discuss it with the Centre if they find the suggestion worthwhile and feasible.

With around 2,000 acres in a prime city location and a strong Public-Private Partnership model, a world-class airport is possible.

Deeply saddened and shocked by the passing of K. Bhagyaraj sir.

It feels especially unreal because I had the opportunity to meet him recently at Khushbu’s daughter’s wedding and spend some time with him.

Bhagyaraj sir was a creative genius whose contributions to Indian cinema go far beyond what many people know. He was the original creator behind stories that went on to become landmark Hindi films and career-defining milestones for so many of us.

Woh Saat Din, adapted from his work, became one of the most important films of my career. Mohabbat, with its story, screenplay and dialogues by Bhagyaraj sir, not only gave us a memorable film but also helped launch the journey of Indra Kumar and Ashok Thakeria as producers through Maruti International.

Later, Beta, another adaptation of his brilliant writing, became a blockbuster and remains one of the defining films of its era. Boney and I had acquired the rights and passed them on to Indra Kumar and Ashok Thakeria during a difficult phase in their journey. The film went on to become a massive success, with all of us receiving tremendous recognition.

Another remarkable example of Bhagyaraj sir’s brilliance was Mujhse Shaadi Karogi. Directed by David Dhawan, produced by Sajid Nadiadwala, and starring Salman Khan, Akshay Kumar and Priyanka Chopra, the film’s story and screenplay were by Bhagyaraj sir and adapted into Hindi by Anees Bazmee. The film became a major success and marked another important milestone in Akshay Kumar’s career.

The seeds of all these successes were planted by Bhagyaraj sir. We adapted his stories for Hindi audiences, but the true creator was always him. His writing touched countless lives and careers, mine included. He helped shape the journeys of actors, filmmakers and producers across generations, often without receiving the recognition he truly deserved.

I will always remain grateful for what he contributed to my career and to Indian cinema as a whole. His legacy will live on through the stories he created and the countless people he inspired.

My heartfelt condolences to his family, friends and loved ones. He will be deeply missed.

Rest in peace, Bhagyaraj sir. 🙏

க்ரேசி மோகன் இறந்து போன அன்னிக்கு நடந்ததை மாது பேட்டி கொடுத்திருக்கார். அதிகாலையில கோயிலில் இருக்கும் போது க்ரேசி அவருக்கு கால் செய்திருக்கார். வயிறு வலிக்குதுன்னு கம்ப்ளைண்ட் பண்ணிருக்கார். இனிமே வெத்தலை போட மாட்டேன்னு சொல்லிருக்கார்... வலி தாங்கலைன்னு சொல்லிட்டு வீட்லையே எதையோ சாப்பிட்டுட்டு ரெஸ்ட் எடுன்னு இவர் சொல்லிட்டு போயிருக்கார்....

மறுபடியும் ஒன்னு இரண்டு மணி நேரத்துக்குள்ள கால் செய்து வலி அதிகமாகுது மூச்சு விட முடிலன்னு சொல்லிருக்கார். காரை எடுத்துட்டு ஹாஸ்பிடல் போய் அட்மிட் செய்த கொஞ்ச நேரத்தில உயிர் பிரிந்திருக்கு.

என்னுடைய கணிப்பு க்ரேசிக்கு வலி வந்து அவர் மாதுக்கு கால் செய்றதுக்கு முன்னாடியே 1 மணி நேரத்துக்கு அவரா சமாளிச்சு பார்த்திருப்பார். சமாளிக்க முடிலன்ன உடனே கால் செய்திருப்பார். அதில ஒரு மணி நேரம், மாது வந்து பார்த்தப்போ 1 மணி நேரம், அடுத்த போன் கால், ஹாஸ்பிடல் போனதுன்னு 2 மணி நேரம் போயிருக்கு. மாரடைப்புக்கு முதல் 3 மணி நேரம் கோல்டன் டைம். ஒரு வேளை காலையில முதல் முறை வயிறு வலின்னு ஆரம்பிச்ச உடனே ஹாஸ்பிடல் போயிருந்தா இன்னிக்கு க்ரேசி நம்ம கூட இருந்திருக்கலாம்...

முதல் விசயம் அதிகாலையில் வலி. பெரும்பாலான இதய பிரச்சனை & ஸ்ட்ரோக் அதிகாலையில தான் வருது. வயிற்று வலி, தாடை வலி, நெஞ்சு வலி, பிடறி வலி, கழுத்து வலி, நெஞ்சு கரிப்பு என எதுவா இருந்தாலும் அதிகாலையில வருவதற்கு கூடுதல் கவனம் கொடுக்கணும். உடனடியா இரத்தக் கொதிப்பை பார்க்கணும், 90க்கு கீழேயோ 170க்கு மேலேயோ இருந்தால் உடனடியாக மருத்துவமனை போகணும்.

இரண்டாவது புகையிலை பழக்கம். வெற்றிலை பாக்கு, சிகிரெட், பீடி, ஹான்ஸ், பாக்கு, மூக்குப்பொடி என எந்த விதமான புகையிலை பழக்கம் இருந்தாலும் உடம்பில எங்க வலி வந்தாலும் நேரா கிளம்பி ஹாஸ்பிடல் போய்டுங்க.. பிபி அங்க போய் பார்த்துக்கலாம்.

அடுத்தது உழைப்பில்லாத வாழ்க்கை முறை. நிச்சயமா பெரும்பாலோனோருக்கு இது பொருந்தும். அதிக உழைப்பில்லை, அதிகாலை வலி.. கிளம்பு ஹாஸ்பிடலுக்கு...

மிக முக்கியமானது பிபி.. மாத்திரை போடல, உடனடியா கிளம்பனும். ஹாஸ்பிடலுக்கா பரந்தாமனை பார்க்கவா என்பது எவ்ளோ சீக்கிரமா கிளம்பறீங்க என்பதை பொறுத்தது.

கவனிக்க வேண்டிய இன்னொன்னு... வயது. 40 வயசுக்கு மேல, அதிகாலை வலி... கிளம்புங்க ஹாஸ்பிடலுக்கு.

ஒரு வேளை மேலே சொன்ன காரணத்துல ஒன்றுக்கு மேல உங்களுக்கு இருந்தா அதிகாலை வலி வந்தாலே அது கண்டிப்பா ஹார்ட் அட்டாக் தான்.. உடனடியாக ஹாஸ்பிடல் போங்க.

முதல் 3 மணி நேரம் தான் முக்கியம். வலிக்குது ஒரு சோடா குடிப்போம்ன்னா சோடா முடியறதுக்கு முன்னாடி சோலி முடிஞ்சுரும். கார்டியாக் அரெஸ்ட் வேற வகை. அது யாருக்கும் எப்பவும் வரலாம்... காப்பாற்றுவது கடினம் ஆனால் ஹார்ட் அட்டாக் 99% பெரும்பாலும் 3 மணி நேரம் டைம் கொடுக்கும்... சுதாரிச்சுக்கணும்.

அதுக்கு தேவை ஓரளவு விழிப்புணர்வு தான். அதுக்கு இந்த பதிவை படிச்சிருந்தாலே போதும்.

To all the araikorai TStock in Chennai - the Tiramisu in this picture is by Conçu Cafe - which doesn’t have an outlet here. Which means that she has had it FLOWN IN via an airport from Mumbai or Bengaluru or Hyderabad. THAT is what a new facility at Parandur can do- maximise experiences & shorten delivery times and transport costs for farmers, business owners alike across India and the world!

But all you want to do is use just 500 farmers as an excuse to stop 14 million Chennai from having the better greenfield airport that can expand our possibilities. Only for rich Akka and Anni with private jet no? Not for middle class and ambitious youth who want to grow in life!? If we ask for it, we are accused of having grabbed land, just because they opposed it politically, doesn’t mean they aren’t using premium services and denying you your right to enjoy! It’s costlier when flown through facilities made for the rich few and not for the masses! Hypocrisy!
