An exciting day making a working prosthetic hand with Support Group and S3 YSL classes. Thank you @SmallpeiceTrust for a great workshop! Looking forward to the next one! #STEM#buildingskills @BxaScience @YoungSTEMLeader@BanffAcademyBXA
@KJF239 I always go with the HIPPO factors (habitat destruction; invasive species; pollution; population growth; overexploitation). It's a nice starting point then I can go into more detail on the bits that are more relevant to the students.
Congratulations to the team from @BanffAcademyBXA who won the @Neptune_Energy EIP challenge organised by @SSERCSTEM with their project on tidal energy and building the most effective oilrig platform. A big thank you to our @ScotSTEMAmb ambassadors for all their help. Well done!
@matthewcsison@chatbiology I played keyword pictionary with my lot. Good revision, but lots of hilarity around putting concepts into pictures - lovely way to end the year!
๐ Hot Chocolate Friday ๐
Deputy Head Teacher Ms McColl was joined for a hot chocolate by our S3 STEM Leaders who have spent the last 2 weeks challenging our S1 Squads to make a paper aeroplane with good aerodynamics to fly the furthest.
Well done! ๐ #recognition#overandabove
Our Staff Learning Together programme continued yesterday evening with an informative discussion led by Mrs Bappoo on Asynchronous Learning ๐#collaborativelearning#skillsforlearning

@CarrieScience Every time we learn a new keyword it gets added to a blooket with the definition as a multiple choice question and pupils have to pick the correct answer (from deliberately tricky options) so pupils are revising words from different parts of the course across the whole year.
S1 Science exploring ways to generate electricity without using fossil fuels by making our own windmills! #GreenEnergy#creative @BxaScience @BanffAcademyBXA
Blown away by my S1 Science News homework submissions! All really interesting! I'm especially impressed by the pupil who worked out how many Munros she would need to climb to get as high as Bezos and Branson did! #beautifulwork#aboveandbeyond @BxaScience @BanffAcademyBXA
