An excellent analysis of how deforestation, combined with climate change, is harming the Amazon — perhaps pushing it to a breaking point.

Watch: McPops. The McAloo Tikki Burger. McMolletes. You won’t find these on the menu at a U.S. McDonald’s. They’re exclusive to their respective countries. Here’s how McDonald’s builds its localized menus around the world. https://t.co/lJ8OWvko97
'Start with the secondary data', that's the advice from @geogologue who writes 'for the confused' in our blog about using #GIS in the #NEA at #Alevel. Includes lots of cool updates. As ever, we're impressed https://t.co/jPq7PWqgP1
We are looking for a new Geography teacher to join our highly successful, dynamic and passionate Humanities team. Anyone looking for a fresh start at a fantastic school in Notts/Derby area, look no further! https://t.co/fINU2MEYRJ
@CBealesTeach We do a lot of grids where they categorise soc/eco/env etc, or +/-. Focus on practicing explaining the ideas and then judging as per spec rather than learning heaps of content. Only teach exactly what spec asks for to cut as much as poss - it can escalate so easily otherwise!
@Jennnnnn_x@timeforgeog I draw it out on the visualiser and take it one side of the bend at a time. Then show them this to reinforce - https://t.co/lJzWFpbdhP
@MsB_Geography I completely agree - every child has that “kryptonite” that will actually get them to behave and you’d probably only need to do it once to make your point. Shame your colleague didn’t support you. Can you speak to other teachers who teach the kid/observe? Always interesting!
@La_Biologuita You are protecting the learning of those who get it right by logging things - that won’t go unnoticed by those who want to do well. Be consistent and kind and praise wherever you can and it will all work out fine in the end!
@Jenniferrrls As an EdExcel A paper 2 marker, I would give this 7 - a bit list like in places but well developed points and a conclusion with justification. You’d also want to encourage new paragraphs for +/-. No marks in the first couple of sentences for describing Mumbai’s location though!
@GeographiaUK Discuss potential causes of behaviour, encourage contact home as much as possible (phonecall home roulette!). Remind them it’s normal to have tough classes and that they just need to keep being consistent with sanctions and praise!
